Control-IQ™ technology is the latest remote software update for your Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump.
Trying to keep your blood sugar in range can be stressful and time consuming. The Control-IQ advanced hybrid closed-loop technology on the t:slim X2 insulin pump can make it easier by predicting and helping to prevent lows AND highs.
Control-IQ uses Dexcom G7 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) values to predict glucose levels 30 minutes ahead and automatically adjusts insulin to help increase time in range (3.9 – 10 mmol/L).|| Dexcom G7 is a real-time, integrated continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system requiring ZERO fingerpricks for calibration or mealtime dosing.^
Funding has now been expanded for the t:slim X2 insulin pump for New Zealanders living with type 1 diabetes.* Click here to learn more and check eligibility criteria click.

Predictive Technology
Designed to help prevent highs or lows and to increase time in range (3.9 – 10 mmol/L)§, Control-IQ technology predicts glucose values 30 minutes ahead.
Automatic Insulin Adjustments
Control-IQ™ technology automatically adjusts insulin levels based on Dexcom G7 CGM readings.§
Correction Boluses
For added protection, Control-IQ technology can also deliver automatic correction boluses (up to one an hour) to help prevent hyperglycaemia.†
Activity Settings
Control-IQ technology includes optional settings for Sleep and Exercise that adjust range of treatment values for more targeted control.
Control-IQ technology predicts glucose values 30 minutes ahead, based on Dexcom G7 CGM readings, and can decrease or stop basal insulin delivery to help prevent lows, or increase basal insulin delivery to help avoid highs.
Control-IQ Status Icon: Icons display on the pump screen to visually indicate when insulin delivery is increasing, decreasing, or stopped. Please refer to the table for a breakdown of status icons.

The t:slim X2 insulin pump provides continuous delivery of insulin through a subcutaneously applied infusion set. The algorithm will adjust insulin delivery according to the predicted glucose when used with a compatible CGM.
Dexcom CGM is a continuous glucose monitoring system indicated for the management of (type 1, type 2, gestational) diabetes in people age 2 years and older where self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) is indicated.
*Eligibility criteria apply. Visit pharmac.govt.nz to learn more.
|| As measured by CGM.
^If your glucose alerts and readings from the G7 do not match symptoms or expectations, use a blood glucose meter to make diabetes treatment decisions.
**Dexcom G7 CGM is required to use the Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ Technology.
§Dexcom CGM sold separately. Transmitter can only be paired with one medical device (either a Dexcom receiver or t:slim X2 insulin pump) and one consumer device (phone or tablet) at the same time.
†If glucose values are predicted to be above 10,0 mmol/L, Control-IQ technology calculates a correction bolus using the Personal Profile settings and a target of 6,1 mmol/L and delivers 60% of that value. An Automatic Correction Bolus will not occur within 60 minutes of a bolus that has been delivered or cancelled.
‡ Pricing current as of 3 November 2021 and subject to change without notice. Price per single pump update.
Tandem software updates are only available for in-warranty pumps. Upgrade linked to pump Serial Number and not transferable.

RESPONSIBLE USE OF CONTROL-IQ TECHNOLOGY
Control-IQ™ technology does not prevent all high and low blood glucose events, and is not a substitute for meal boluses and active self-management of diabetes. Control-IQ technology will not be able to predict sensor glucose values and adjust insulin dosing if a patient’s CGM is not working properly or is unable to communicate with their pump. Patients should be instructed to always pay attention to their symptoms and blood glucose levels and treat accordingly.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
The t:slim X2 insulin pump and the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ technology are intended for single patient use. The t:slim X2 pump and the t:slim X2 pump with Control-IQ technology are indicated for use with NovoRapid or Humalog U-100 insulin. t:slim X2 insulin pump: The t:slim X2 pump is intended for the subcutaneous delivery of insulin, at set and variable rates, for the management of diabetes mellitus in persons requiring insulin.
